Logitech F540 Review
Unboxing
I ordered this product 2 years ago from our local supplier in South Africa and it was my first R1000+($100) pair of headphones. When the product arrived I was impressed with the packaging it had a lot of advertisements on the outer layer. When the box is opened the wireless headphone sits neatly and flush in a display case like shell which is extremely appealing and intriguing. When I first set up the product it required a look at the manual which is rarely the case when I first open a product because I am a IT student myself. My initial impressions of the product is that it is quiet an overall good looking and contained unit and the ear cups are engineered surprisingly good to fit the ear. The F540’s come with a wide variety of connectors for it acclaimed multipurpose use and it lacks a AUX which is strange because it has an aux input and it is surely a drawback.
Daily use
Although I only use this unit with a PC it is extremely useful due to its wireless features and enables me to walk around the house whilst listening to my favourite music and videos. The range is approximately 6 meters through walls. The F540’s has an awesome array of features including a tone warning the user when the battery is low.
Customer Service
I was extremely impressed with Logitech’s Customer service, when my headphone broke they sent me a new pair without needing to send the originals back and delivery was quick considering I am based in South Africa. All the required was for me to send them pictures of the product with a reference number in the picture.
The Mic
The microphone on the unit is rather good and the boom is made of a strong plastic that does not seed to wear and has a very slick look.
When the boom is lifted up it automatically mutes the microphone and gives and audible beep. This beep is handy but the same beep is also played through the microphone out for some reason which is a big drawback considering that your friends can hear every time your headphones are muted or runs out of battery.
